DPDP Gap Assessment

Each question is a maturity ladder — pick the statement closest to how things actually work today, not how the policy says they should. The score is self-reported: it shows where gaps sit; it does not establish legal compliance or test whether controls work.

Area-by-area

Prioritised action list

Lowest-scoring areas first. Each action is the next concrete step for that area at your current maturity.

This is a directional self-assessment based on your own answers. It does not constitute legal advice, does not establish compliance with the DPDP Act, 2023, and does not test whether your controls work in practice.

How it works

Seven areas, scored on maturity — not on whether a policy exists.

Every question is a four-step ladder from “nothing in place” to “operational and evidenced”. The assessment rewards what you can show, because that is what a regulator, an auditor or an enterprise buyer will ask for.

FAQ

About the assessment

No. It is a structured self-assessment that shows where your gaps are likely to sit. A gap assessment engagement tests the controls, reviews contracts and notices, inspects systems and produces evidence — this tool tells you where to start.
Nowhere. The assessment runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted or stored by us. If you choose “Discuss my results”, the summary is placed into the contact form message for you to review before sending.
Each answer scores 0–3 on a maturity ladder. Area scores are the sum of their questions; the overall score is the sum across all eighteen questions, expressed as a percentage. Bands are Early Stage, Developing, Established and Advanced.
The quick check is ten questions across five areas for a fast signal. This assessment covers seven areas including vendors and AI, asks eighteen questions, and produces a prioritised action list.
